Established in 2005 by Jaco 'entiRety' Diedericks, team eXert was an online CS1.6 clan started for the ESWC 2005 SA Qualifiers, and captained by Hansi 'Berserker' Schuster. The team, after being eliminated in the group stage, lost a few players and transformed into a Counter-Strike: Source clan with players like Walter 'Sonne', Philip 'Demonix' van Zyl, Reinhard 'Xeroo' Holl, Hani 'Lasombra', Greg 'Superman', Sean 'TesLa' Brookstein and Chris 'Anthem' Lake in the line-up. At the teams height of success, and after loosing too many players because of them quiting gaming, the clan disbanded in 2006.

eXert Gaming 2010 originally aimed to compete in both Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike 1.6. The original founder, entiRety, and senior player, TesLa, entered competitive gaming in 2005, playing their first competition together at Rage 2005. These two players appeared together in Counter-Strike: Source teams like neVen, aTp, and directDamage, playing competitively on and off since 2005.

The team was restarted to compete in the Do Gaming Online League Leg 4, with the line up: TesLa, entiRety, Poramag, GrazE, M1ghty, LoKi. As the youngest team in the league, eXert Gaming placed 5th in the 1st Division, beating sAvage, Constant Gaming, and dyNax Gaming. After the league 3 of its members left as the chemistry within the team did not seem to work.

WarpeR and merc joined the team, aiming to strengthen the team for the Do Gaming Championships. Yet the team failed at reaching any of its goals, and the members decided to form a new team called CruX eSports. CruX eSports failed to materialise, and those loyal to eXert moved back to the team and decided to support the move by the community to Counter-Strike 1.6.

eXert Gaming, with the line-up of TesLa, entiRety, eXeCute, EnT@nGleD, and Vince, scored 3 wins and 9 loses while competing in Group B of Leg 1 in the Do Gaming League in Counter-Strike 1.6. Yet, the majority of the team proved themselves loyal and decided to stick together for the second leg. Kr1mZon joined the team to compete in the leg and Relax as our reserve, both outstanding players.
