The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 League

Our Modern Warfare 3 League see's over 90 teams of five players and three reserves each take each other on using the Search and Destroy game mode. The attackers will attempt to plant the bomb while the defenders must either prevent the bomb plant or defuse it.

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Do Gaming League is a 5vs5 team based league which sees clans from all sides of the Call of Duty community join together to compete to be crowned the Do Gaming Champions and claim their share of R60,000 cash prizes brought you by Megarom and Monster as well as five epic Alienware X51 Desktop PC's for the winners, sponsored by Alienware.

The league is split up into three legs, each lasting seven weeks. At the end of each leg, teams will be promoted or demoted according to their resulting position.

As this is our first COD MW3 league, we will use leg 1 as a seeding leg. This means that all teams will be placed into groups randomly. At the end of the leg, teams will be seeded according to their finishing position into either the Premier, First, Second, Third or Fourth Division.

At the end of the third leg, teams will be invited to compete on LAN at the Telkom Do Gaming league Championships. In 2011 the Telkom Do Gaming League Championships were held at rAge and we gave away prizes to the value of R360,000!

Impi’s PewPew Dominates the MW3 Champions Final

The Champions Cup Final in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) DGL 2012 first leg playoffs, brought to you by Dell Alienware, Megarom and Monster Energy, ended up being quite an affair as impi took home the win with some significant scores over Vitriolic. Marco 'peWpeW' Erasmus from impi deserves special mention too, for reasons outlined below.

The final scores were 13 – 8 on Resistance and 12 – 2 on Village. These haven’t particularly been impi’s strongest maps, but Brandon 'broKeN_' De Beer, impi’s captain, says they had been practicing these maps extensively lately as they had a good idea that Vitriolic might prefer them.

Obviously that practice paid off. Vitriolic took a pretty good lead in the first map playing as Defence, but suddenly impi turned the tables and equalised the score and started taking the lead. The trend continued as they swapped sides and this seemed to have demotivated Vitriolic quite substantially.

Village was the real clincher. Impi’s strong SMG’s, most notably Erasmus, dominated the game, with Erasmus enjoying a 17 - 1 score at one point. Bjorn `n008’ Fish, Vitriolic captain, says that Erasmus and De Beer were a real pain for them at B bombsite.

“Quite honestly, I’m of the opinion that Erasmus is one of the best SMG’s in the country,” he says. “Look, ultimately they’re a good team. They out-stratted us and everything we were doing just failed. GG well played to them, really. It was a great game.”

The win has made for an interesting beginning to the season, bringing in some new names to the Do Gaming Premier Leagues. Vitriolic have always done well on the DGL Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) side, and of course so have Bravado. But impi’s win now shows that we’re going to have a really exciting Premier League this year - teams such as [xTc]MW3 and LOA in addition to impi have shown themselves to be strong contenders against the old CoD4 boys.
