Do Gaming / General League Rules
1. About Do Gaming Leagues

1.1 The Do Gaming League is a round robin style event, aimed at providing gamers with a stable and reliable year long ranking platform. The Do Gaming League offers teams and players the ability to climb the ranks as they improve, taking on the best opponents in the country.

1.2 The Do Gaming League has been split up into three legs. Each leg consists of seven weeks. The finals will be played at the Do Gaming Championships.

1.3 The Terms and Conditions herein set out the rules and regulations which shall govern the Do Gaming Online League 2012. By entering this competition, all applicants and players accept and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

1.4 Entry to the Online League 2012 is granted to individual players 16 years or older who have registered for the events through the Do Gaming League website.

2. Eligibility

2.1 There are no specific entry qualification criteria for the Do Gaming Online League 2012.

2.2 Players that are younger than 16 years old may not participate in the Do Gaming League unless their parent and/or legal guardian completes the Do Gaming parental consent form available from the Do Gaming website.

2.3 Employees of the Do Gaming League and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies and the immediate families of each are not eligible. Volunteers in the league are however permitted to compete in these tournaments.

2.4 All players who wish to compete in the Do Gaming Online League must have a valid Do Gaming account. Your profile should be completed as accurately as possible. Players may compete in more than one discipline (i.e. multiple games) and/or for multiple clans. You may only represent one team/player per discipline.

2.5 Players who are currently suspended/banned from the league (for whatever reason) are not permitted to register for the competition (even if using a different account). Registration of more than one Do Gaming account is strictly forbidden.

2.6 Volunteers who assist in the league are eligible to compete. Do Gaming takes various precautions to ensure that every decision is scrutinised, making it impossible for volunteers to gain an unfair advantage.

2.7 Players may compete in more than one discipline (i.e. multiple games), but this will not impact our decision should you request an extension to a match deadline.

2.8 In StarCraft II, GT5, Forza 4, GOW3 and FIFA 12, only South African residents may take part.

3. Competition governance

3.1 At no time will participation in the Do Gaming Online League 2012 exempt you from the obligations entered into and agreed to in any of these documents.

3.2 Do Gaming will provide a tournament director who is solely responsible for ultimate decision-making and adjudication in all circumstances.

4. Team Line-ups/Roster Locks (Team Games Only)

4.1 Team captains are not permitted to change their team line-up during competition legs. Exceptions to this rule apply during the first week of the leg and the "transfer window", where roster locks will be lifted so that they may modify their line-up. Do Gaming may block a player transfer if it deems such action necessary.

4.2 Teams in the Premier and First Divisions must maintain five of the eight players (including reserves) which were part of their line-up at the end of leg 3 2011 in order to continue to compete under the same team name. If this requirement cannot be satisfied, the team will be seen to have been "hijacked" and will be relegated to the lowest division. The original roster is the one which is used to register at the start of the previous leg.

4.3 Number of original members needed to keep seed and name per game:

4.3.1 Counter-Strike:GO : 5 players (of 8).
4.3.2 Call of Duty 4 : 5 Players (of 8).
4.3.3 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 : 5 Players (of 8).
4.3.4 Battlefield 3 : 8 Players (of 12)
4.3.4 DOTA 2: 4 Players (of 8)

4.4 Teams in the Premier and First Divisions are allowed to change three players during a window of eight league weeks.

5. Match Results/Bookings

5.1 Match weeks run from Tuesday to Monday (11:30pm). All matches for the specified week must be played and results submitted by no later than 11:30pm Monday. Teams and players must post the scores in the respective match page discussion area.

5.2 Both teams/players must record (if supported by the game) every league match. Screenshots of both team’s line-ups and the scores must be taken. Do Gaming will perform random spot checks, randomly asking teams/players for their recordings and screenshots.

5.3 Do Gaming will release the match roster at the start of the leg. Each week, teams/players must book with their opponents to play the match at a time which both leaders agree to. Once you have agreed upon a match time and booked a server, you must make a post on the match page so that the admins are aware of the booking. Teams/players must make their match booking by no later than Thursday evening.

5.4 If you are unable to contact your opponent by Thursday evening, please contact the League Admin immediately. Should you not make a booking by this deadline, you will be issued a warning. If you fail to meet this deadline again, your team will be penalised.

5.5 Teams/players must use the match page discussion forums to book matches as all these messages are logged and your opponents will receive an email every time you make a post. In the event of a match not taking place, the match page discussions will be used by the league administrators to judge if teams & players have put enough effort into organising the match in question.

5.6 Teams/players must make all efforts to contact their opponents via the Match Forum before Thursday of the match week. If teams/players are unable to agree to a match time, the match defaults to Monday 8.30pm.

5.7 Under no circumstances will extensions be granted. Teams/players are advised to book their matches early in the week to leave room for unexpected problems that might occur.

5.8 Teams/players which the League Administrator deems to be purposefully unreasonable or intentionally attempting to force a forfeit will, themselves, face penalties.

6. Cheating

6.1 Players who are banned by the Default Service Provider and/or a third-party monitoring tool (such as PunkBuster/VAC2) are not permitted to play in the Do Gaming League. You may appeal this ban by contacting   the League Admin. Teams who field banned players in their team lineup will face penalties or drop down two divisions.

6.2 Do Gaming does NOT operate an anti-cheat service. If you suspect a player is please forward your evidence to the relevant authority (Evenbalance/Steam). These companies have years of experience and vastly more advanced techniques for cheat detection that we do. Please do not submit evidence to Do Gaming.

6.3 Do Gaming may allow players who have been banned by Punkbuster to complete if Do Gaming decides that the ban was incorrectly triggered. These players will be placed on probation and must use an anti-cheat provided by DGL.

7. Disputes

7.1 A dispute occurs when one team wishes to lodge a complaint about another team's actions. Please make sure that you fully understand the rules regarding an incident before lodging a dispute.

7.2 All disputes must be lodged privately with the League Admin by submitting a ticket. Any team who makes a complaint/accusation on a public forum will be penalised.

7.3 Do Gaming will acknowledge receipt of your dispute within 24 hours and will act on it as quickly as possible to resolve the dispute.

7.4 During a single leg, each team is allowed a maximum of 2 failed disputes (similar to cricket's referral system).  If both of your disputes are acquitted, you will not be allowed to lodge any further disputes until the next leg.

7.5 Disputes must be lodged no later than 24 hours after the incident has occurred. Only special cases will be excluded from this rule.

8. Drop-Outs

8.1 Teams/players may only drop-out at the end of a leg. Should your team no longer wish to compete in the Do Gaming League, you must notify the League Admin that you wish to drop-out.

8.2 Your team will lose its seeding and any subsequent re-entry will mean you start from the beginning (in the lowest division).

8.3 Your team may only drop-out at the end of the leg. If you stop playing your matches during the leg, you will be disqualified and will face the penalties associated with disqualification.

9. Disqualification

9.1 You may be disqualified from the League for any of the following reasons:

9.1.1 Failing to play 2 or more matches in a single leg
9.1.2 Any repeat offenses after a formal warning has been issued

9.2 All players from teams who are disqualified will be banned from competing in any Do Gaming events (including the Do Gaming LAN Championships) for a minimum of 12 weeks. Your team will lose its seeded position and will have to re-enter at the lowest division when the ban expires.

10. Ping Imbalance

10.1 Players are expected to have an average maximum response time of less than 80ms. If you’re in-game ping is consistently above this value, you must find a substitute for yourself and leave the server.

10.2 If you notice that your opponent has an unacceptably high ping, you may politely request that they fix it. They then have 1 round (MW3/COD4/DOTA2/CSGO) or 3 minutes (SC2) to correct the problem or they must disconnect from the game. You must take screenshots of your request and the game scoreboard/latency screen to assist in any dispute(s).

10.3 Players who continue to experience high pings or connection issues on more than one occasion will be asked to find a solution to the problem before their next match. If the player does not correct the issue, he/she will be removed from the event. This rule has been introduced to improve the competitive environment.

11. Match Problems

11.1 Once your match has been booked, you are expected to be ready to play at the agreed time. Play must start within 15 minutes of the scheduled match time, otherwise the offending team/player will forfeit the match. We suggest that you and your team test your connection/game 10 minutes prior to the match to avoid delays.

11.2 Provided that you are still able to submit your match results by the deadline, teams/players may agree to postpone/reschedule a match. This should be posted on the match page so that admins are aware of the change and do not force you to forfeit.

12. Scoring

12.1 Teams are ranked according to their raw score (3 points for a win, 2 point for a draw, 1 point for a loss and 0 points for a forfeit). In the case of a tie of raw points, difference will act as the primary tiebreaker; and if this too is tied, then the result of the initial head to head score will be the secondary tiebreaker. If the players are still tied a playoff will take place.

12.2 In the event that both teams/players submit different scores for the same match, the screenshots will be reviewed. If no useable evidence attached, the match will be overturned and both teams/players will receive a default loss. It is imperative that both teams/players submit their scores by the deadline to avoid penalties.
